Nutrition serves as an incredibly enriching discipline due to its potential to change the lives of clients. Nutrition serves as the foundation for our health and the fuel for our performance. However, to get to a balance in life, you need support, discipline, empathy, methodology and drive to positively change behaviors.
And as a Certified Nutrition Coach, you’ll learn the science of nutrition and use it to promote better health in yourself and others through smarter dietary choices, sustainable change, and a better relationship with food.
The NASM Nutrition Coach Certification programme provides in-depth training in nutritional science, behaviour change strategies, and nutrition coaching. By the time you’re finished, you’ll have all the expert knowledge you need to help clients transform their relationship to food and guide them to make better dietary choices.
To maintain your NASM Certified Nutrition Coach (NASM-CNC) credential, you need to recertify every two years. This ensures that you stay current with industry standards and continue to grow as a fitness professional. Here’s what the process looks like:
Complete Continuing Education Units (CEUs):
You’ll need 1.9 NASM CEUs (19 contact hours) within your two-year certification cycle.
The remaining CEUs can be earned through NASM-approved courses, workshops, specialisations, or approved outside providers.
Submit Recertification Application:
Once your CEUs are completed, log in to your NASM account and submit your recertification application online.
Provide proof of CEUs
Pay the Recertification Fee:
A 2-year recertification fee applies. NASM also offers Recertify for Life (RFL), which allows you to pay once and recertify without future renewal fees.
Meet Deadlines:
Recertification is due every two years from the date you originally earned your NASM-CNC
Late submissions may incur additional fees, so it’s best to submit early.
By staying on top of your CEUs, recertification becomes a straightforward process. It’s also a great opportunity to expand your knowledge, specialise in new areas, and continue delivering safe and effective training to your clients.
